Browser shame

Sometimes I visit websites for “educational purposes”, fact checking you might call it, but others might jump to the wrong conclusion if they were to see any of my websites for the first time.

Internet search histories can be embarrassing if not deleted in a timely manner. Forgetting that when you start your web browser, it can still have the last page you had visited as the first page you see. That just happened to me and someone else was helping me gain internet access when I started my web browser. I know what you’re thinking……but this is worse, much worse. This just happened to me on my Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt.

Lufthansa has internet available on their long haul flights. All you have to do is logon. I was very keen to watch the Scotland vs England rugby match and thought I could stream it whilst we were airborne. Instead, I have no doubt that I am now on a list of “dodgy” people. I’ll be lucky if they ever let me on another flight. I activated the wireless internet on my phone and I could see Lufthansa’s router was working. I tried logging on but only an error message kept coming up. I asked a flight attendant for help and she was very happy to help me.

“You have to start your internet browser first” she said.

Without any thought or consideration to my last internet visit……I opened my web browser. The flight attendant was now squatted down right beside me watching as the website revealed itself. I think the pictures spoke more than a thousand words. She did not say a word and left very quickly. There it was, in colour……….Islamic Jihad.
